It’s our 55th Year in Business! No big bash, just a year full of fun stuff & give-a-ways.
To celebrate, on the last day of each month we will have a giveaway. Put your name in at the office for a chance to win!
SAT May 10 – Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all our Mom’s! Stop in at the office for a special surprise!
May 16-17-18 VICTORIA DAY WEEKEND – Our first long weekend of the season! FRI 8 pm Youth night games & snacks for teens. SAT 10 am Closest to the Pin (golf course). 11 am Kites in the Sky – BYO kites (weather dependent). Parents, please come to help launch kites (ballfield). 7 pm Corn Hole Challenge – mixed doubles, prizes.
SAT May 24 – LONDON SHARKS DAY – Welcome to the London Sharks Volleyball Club’s teams, who will be hosting their End of the Season Ceremony & Awards, bbq lunch & games at Shady Pines. If your child/grandchild has an interest in learning to play volleyball, skills summer camps, or try out for a competitive team, check out London Sharks Volleyball.
SAT May 31– HEROES DAY! – EMT, Police, Firefighters, Army, Navy, Airforce, Nurses, Doctors receive 10% off overnight camping fee, when book for 2 or more nights. Seasonal campers whose occupation is/was one of the above can get 10% off a Shady Pines t-shirt, hoodie or hat. With deepest gratitude for our heroes and all they do for us!
SAT June 7 – 55TH CELEBRATIONS – 11 am Little Gardeners Program, look what I grew! Mentoring from seasoned gardeners & those interested in growing vegetables from seed, During the summer, learn how to care for your plants. At the end of the season, preparing a harvest meal with what was grown with a chef! (Pavilion) 5 pm Join us at dinnertime for a BBQ meal on us! Happy 55th Anniversary, Shady Pines!
SAT June 14 – TYE-DYE SOCIAL 11 am. Family Crafts– tye-dye t-shirts, bring a white t-shirt, dyes will be provided. 2 pm. Stop in at the lounge for an old-tyme favourite, a root beer float (root beer or other flavour soda with a scoop of ice cream). In honour of our Dads, root beer floats are on us! 4 pm Colour run. Prepare to be coloured! 8 pm Become the next singing sensation, it’s Karaoke Time! (Pavilion)
SAT June 21 – YARD SALE DAY 1-4 p.m. Have something you no longer need or items in good shape to sell? Set up a yard sale table on your site to display your wares. Be prepared to negotiate & have plenty of change on hand. A fun day to socialize with your neighbors & find some bargains at their sales! Rain delay: Sun 1-3.
June 27-28-29 -CANADA DAY WEEKEND – Celebrate Canada’s 158th Birthday! Lot Decorating Contest (judging up until 10 pm Saturday). FRI 8 pm. Teen Night – games & snacks for teens. SAT –10 am Closest to the Pin (golf course). 1:00 pm Canada Day Parade: classic vehicles, decorated golf carts and bicycles. Car show. Cake & ice cream following the parade. 8 pm DJ Dance with the McNees. 9 pm FIREWORKS on the golf course. Raindate: Sun June 29. SUN 10 am PANCAKE BREAKFAST Campers Activity Fundraiser. Please sign up not less than one week prior. $12 /plate adult & kids under 13 $5/plate. Stack of pancakes, syrup, sausages, fruits, juice or coffee/tea. (Pavilion)
SAT July 5 – BUNNY HOP! – Lot Decorating Contest. 11 am Silly Yoga. 1 pm Easter Egg Hunt at the bunny’s favourite spot. (12 yr and under, byo basket or bag. All kids get an easter bag of candy.) Facepainting & maybe even a visit from the Easter Bunny (Pavilion). 4 pm Bake Sale proceeds to camp activities. SUN 12:30 p.m. Ice Cream Social ice cream treats, adults $2 per scoop, kids under 18 years of age eat free. Put your favourite toppings on and enjoy!
SAT July 12 – PIRATES ADVENTURE – Ahoy, Mateys! It’s dress like a pirate day for kids of all ages! Join us on this pirate adventure with treasure hunts, crafts, and challenges in a day of swashbuckling fun. Work together with your swarmy crew, outsmart the other pirates, and uncover hidden treasures. Cannon ball toss, a wet and wild game with teams, be prepared to get wet! 3 pm Watch out for a mutiny or you’ll be a-walkin’ the plank!
SAT July 19 – GOLF CART RODEO – SAT 11am Kids Time (Pavilion) 1 pm Time Attack Races, Best Appearing Cart, Best Racing Outfit. Trophies, Prizes. 1pm Kids Bicycle Rodeo right after – best appearing bike, best racing outfit, best time obstacle course. Prizes. 6:30 Bingo Kids 7:30 Adult Bingo (lounge).
July 26 HO-HO-HO, IT’S CHRISTMAS! – Light up the campground with twinkling lights, inflatable Santas & Snowmen, and creative Christmas displays! The top 3 merriest, most magical sites win a prize. FRI 9 pm Candlelight Wagon Ride – Bring a battery-operated candle (non-flammable) or flashlight and join us for caroling around the park. Song sheets provided. SAT 10 am (Pavilion) Kids Time. 11am Storytime with Santa. 3pm Snow ball toss, a wet and wild team game!
Aug 1-2-3 CIVIC HOLIDAY WEEKEND – Willem’s Food Drive, bring non-perishable foods/ personal products to donate to the Ailsa Craig Food Bank. FRI- 9 pm Teen Night Flashlight Tag. SAT 10am-12 pm Fishing Derby (ponds) BYO fishing tackle. Prizes 10 am Closest to the Pin (golf course). 8 pm DJ Dance with the McNees. SUN- 2 pm Slip and Slide Kickball, a wacky baseball-soccer type game for all ages, the most fun you’ll ever have! Prepare to get wet! (ballfield).
August 9 EARTH DAY – SAT 10 am- SALTHAVEN wildlife demonstration. Learn how Salthaven became a wildlife refuge for injured birds and animals, meet some of their rescues and find out what you can do to help. 2pm Sandcastle Building Competition, every team must have at least one child under 10, one teenager and one adult. 4 pm Let’s clean up our environment! Wear gloves. Garbage bags will be provided. 9 pm Drive-in movie (bring golf carts/blankets), popcorn $2, pop/water $2 -proceeds to Camp Activity Fund.
August 16 JUST CHILL’N –11 am Kids Time. Chili Cookoff. Who will win the coveted Chili Champ Award? Calling all campers, enter a family-sized crock pot of your secret chili recipe by 11 am. Judging. Chilis are then combined for everyone to enjoy for lunch! $4 bowl of chili / $6 chili dog. Proceeds to Campers Activity Fund. 2 pm Poker Run $10 a hand, limit of 52 hands. Best poker hand wins half the pot. Proceeds to Campers’ Activity Fund. 5 pm BBQ and corn roast, more details coming soon.
August 23 HALLOWEEN – Spooky sights, haunted nights, and treats in every corner – Halloween fun starts now! Get ready for a weekend of ghoulish good times, including costume contests, creepy crafts, and plenty of surprises lurking in the shadows! 11 am Kids Time. 1:30-4 Trick or Treating around the park. Remember: teens like dressing up and candy too, please include them in the fun. They grow up soon enough. 9 pm Glow Stick Tag Teams (ballfield). SUN 12:30 p.m. Ice Cream Social – ice cream treats, adults $2 per scoop, kids under 18 years of age eat free.
Aug 29-30-31, Sept 1 -LABOUR DAY WEEKEND – FRI 8pm Teen Party (Pavilion) SAT-10 am Closest to the Pin (golf course) 11 am Teddy Bear Picnic. Bring your favourite stuffy and a lunch to eat togetherr. 10-5 Our Annual BUILD-A-BASKET fun-raiser. Groups of campers put together themed baskets. Buy tickets and bid on the baskets that you like. All donations accepted. Draw at 5 pm, must be in attendance to win. End of the year Horseshoe Tournament. 8 pm Dance the Night Away with the McNees. SUN – End of Year Bocce Tournament.
SAT Sept 20 – YEAR END FESTIVITIES – 5 pm. Seasonal Camper’s Dinner at the Pavilion. Get your free meal tickets at the office, not less than 2 weeks prior. For seasonal campers paid on contract only. Meal catered by Appin Catering. 55th Year Time Capsule Festival – bring your mementos to put into our time capsule to be opened in 10 years. Your hand prints will be stamped on the capsule. It’ll be fun to see who was here at that time and what treasurers were stored in the capsule.
October 4-5-6 THANKSGIVING A weekend of everything you’re thankful for.
OCT 18-19 – last weekend of camping season 2025. Thank you for making our 55th Anniversary year a special one! Camp closes at 5 pm on Sunday. You can come in after closure to work on your trailer or site, rake leaves, but no campfires & must leave the park by 5 pm. Gate card access is turned off Oct 30, washrooms remain open during the day.

Hard Closure – The campground is hard closed through the months of November, December, January, February. March will be weather dependent. You can come in to the campground by appointment only to check on your trailer, call Ernie 519-496-0096. Washrooms are closed. Park up front and walk in. Staff will be on-site during closure.

Regular Weekly Activities 2025
WEDNESDAYS: Coffee Social 10-11 am – meet your friends & neighbours to chat over a cup of fresh O’Joes’ gourmet coffee/tea/hot chocolate in the lounge. Coffee beans are ethically sourced that directly support the farmers of Peru. Starts the Wednesday after the May Long Weekend and ends the last week in August.
